My apartment

Lately have been thinking about how I love living alone. I can decorate and un-decorate at my leisure.I thought I'd post a few pics of my apartment to show you guys where I live!
This is my kitchen, i love to add plants and doo-dads to it.
As you can see here, my flooring is a mixture of retro and horrific. I gotta find ways to attract your attention elsewhere.
This is my attempt to cover up terrible wallpaper in my kitchen. Living in an apartment, I don't get to choose whats on the walls so I...improvised!! Can't guarantee its fire hazard friendly...
My kitchen table. I made a frame into a chalkboard behind it! The other picture is from Urban Outfitters. The table is from Good will and the chairs were gonna be thrown out but I saved them from a friend! Best part about my kitchen i think!
My living room. White free matching couches given to me from my old roommates cousin. Quite the steal! The hanging lantern and frame is from Ikea, the rug from Anthropologie (On sale for 25$!!) and the boyfriend was made in Minnesota. ;) I think...
These curtains are from Target actually! I couldnt decide between the two so I threw up a rod and put both on. I like the effect.
Another view of my living room from the kitchen table.
This is an old dresser I "spiffed up." I painted it one coat with leftover wall paint from my last duplex and threw on some Anthropologie knobs. Its great to store my plants on.
I stow my shirts, socks, intimates and comfy pants in this bad boy. So many uses out of such an ex-crappy dresser.
Oh deer. I love succulents!
My patio is shaping up nicely too, with new teal patio furniture and blue Christmas lights! Can't wait to plant...I've been afraid of Minnesota frost.

My favorite object: My 60 inch tv!! I put up a tapestry behind it to cover up ugly white walls :) I'm behind the camera snuggling in my Anthropologie quilt.
Aaaand my favorite room of the apartment! The bedroom. I have two Anthropologie quilts on there. I splurged on the quilt and shams... which are now ON SALE. So bogus...but good for you if you want to buy it. I threw up frames on the wall, but that space is constantly changing.

So thats it! Hope you enjoyed the tour! Enjoy the beautiful day!

Spring!!

Well im just sucking at blogging lately. I don't know if anyone even reads these anymore... But I've been distracted with my phone and instagram lately. That and my computer screen went out so I have to blog from my phone which goes A LOT slower. Buuut I digress. It's spring. I love it. It feels though like its not only the season for renewing the earth, but also a season for renewing me! I've been going through the fire, becoming refined for a greater purpose. I've realized that no matter who you are and what you believe, that you have to realize that everything in this life perishes, it dies, things change. My new tv, it will expire someday. It won't always be around. Nothing is sure in life. It is my personal belief though, that God is the only constant, the only surety, the only faithful thing in life. I'm convinced that friends will turn away in life, you grow apart or they leave, even lovers will fail you... But God is constant. He never changes, He constantly loves. It's in that love that I cling to... Even in terribly hard times in my life. He provides all I need... Which is Him. All these words inspired me to write a song, which is in its rough stages at the moment, but i will be posting it soon. Anyways, I wish you all a happy and blessed spring season, may God bless you and shine on you. May He give you peace... And provide for you a constancy in life, that which is undying passionate firey love!

These pictures are of my lovely tv,and my spring day yesterday complete with my new bright green shoes. And the first dandelions of spring!!

Never did I think...

Never did I think that I would end up with an iphone. I guess I always thought that I would have a cheapy phone until death. Dramatic but true. Now here I am, able to take pictures to my hearts delight...and I am happy. Not a lasting happiness...but a fun one regardLess.

Splurged

I finally got it. I bought the quilt from Anthropologie that I've been drooling over for two years. Not only that, but I got the shams as well. I also got a throw rug. I have all the pictures for all these on my camera, but it doesnt seem to work when i connect the SD card to my computer so this picture will have to suffice for now:

Amazing isnt it? Got it for 50 dollars off because it was on display in the store for awhile so it needed to be cleaned. So worth it. LUVLY. So worth being single right now and decorating the way that I want in my apartment. My bed is girly. And I can get away with it! Its also comfy...so suck on that Miles Davis!

By the way, found this picture of Zooey Deschanel's hair/outfit and loved it. I keep having dreams with her in them. I feel like I know her personally now, incredibly weird and unsettling.
Have a great week everyone! Be blessed in all you do and know that you are worthy.

I love candles

I spent $15.00 today on three candles. Wait, no four candles. Why? Because they were on sale. Woe to me and my terrible spending habits!! But I gotta say they make the apartment look so cozy and homey.
I'm pretty sure if i burn down the place it won't be so homey, but at least it will have a fire smell to it...because that was one of the candle smells i was looking into buying. Buuuuut it was a liiiiittle too funky smelling. I passed.
Don't like your apartment? Light a candle and see the atmosphere change like MAGIC! :)

This candle by the way is a DIY orange peel candle. So sweet! Heres the link:

Now i must be excused to make dinner for Jarod...he comes at 6: 30 and I'm going to make this recipe. Looks easy enough:
Bratwurst Stew
6 bratwurst
2 tbsp. shortening
4 med. potatoes, cubed
1 med. onion, chopped
1 (15 oz.) can green beans
1 can cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup
1 c. milk
1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
Cut brats into 1/2 inch pieces. Brown in melted shortening in large skillet or Dutch oven. When nicely browned, add potatoes, onion, undiluted soup and milk. Mix well. Cover and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes or until potatoes are done. Before removing from heat, add drained green beans and cheese. Bring just to a boil and let simmer until beans are heated and the cheese is nicely melted and blended into the stew. (You may use polish sausage instead of brats, in which case, no shortening is needed for browning.) Chopped pimento adds color to the stew and is good with either choice of meat.
And I shall cook it to this amazing song i heard on the Bon Iver Pandora station:

Wanna hear Michelle and I sing?

Michelle and I got together this Holiday season and recorded a few songs. They are very rough because they were on a Mac, but I think it sounds pretty good. The whole reasoning behind it was because I wanted to give my grandma a CD of me singing for Christmas....last year. Lol. Only now am I getting it done (Its more complicated than you think!) Anyways, I uploaded this one to YouTube so others could hear it, and I put pictures from Master's Commission (my first year) up. Enjoy!!

Urban Outfitters madness

If any of you know me at all, you know that I'm an Urban Outfitter fanatic. I often browse through their internet site and dreamily imagine a whole new wardrobe or new bedroom look. Today, as I browsed through their sale items I realized something. Urban Outfitters is RIDICULOUS! I still love them, but some of the things they sell and make a profit over! I was looking at some of their sales items...and scoffed.
Enjoy!
